Chocolate Caramel Crunch (Christmas Crack)

Ingredients
1 cup Saltines
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups chocolate (chocolate chips or chopped chocolate)
Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Arrange the Saltines in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
Once boiling, let it cook for an additional 3-4 minutes without stirring, until it becomes a thick caramel.
Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the Saltines, making sure to cover them completely.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, until bubbly.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate over the hot caramel layer. Let it sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts.
Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
Add sprinkles on top for decoration.
Allow to cool completely at room temperature, or refrigerate for faster cooling.
Once set, break into pieces and serve.
